Why old school electric bikes just don't cut it:

• Steep hills are a no go, with maximum climbing ability of only 8%
• Hub motors work with magnets which actually makes it harder to pedal when you ride power free
• Because of the uneven weight distribution caused by the hub mounted motor, riding an old style electric bike feels wonky and unbalanced
• Delivering power through either the front or back wheel on a loose road surface can be dangerous.
• Hub monitors need special non standard wheels
